Apr 10, 2014 · At first, I chocked it up to the pad needing to wear down to seat properly on the disc. I started using the front brake a little harder than normal to help with the wear in. Now, with right at 200 Km on the scoot, the grinding sound isn't getting better. It might even be getting worse. There isn't any shimmy or other weirdness. how many miles have you done with the new pads, if you drive a lot in traffic they could be worn down again, so its worth checking how much wear you have left on them, to be honest mine grind a little when coming to a stop in heavy traffic queues, and mine are still quite new, it may be the callipers not releasing fully and the pads staying slightly on - heating them up, but it could just be a build up of brake dust too. I have a wierd rubbing/grinding noise coming from the passenger side of my car. When decellerating from about 10 to 15 mph, the noise starts. It's a cyclic noise that is porportional to the speed of the car. It's not related to the engine speed or transmission speed (clutch can be in, or trans in neutral).
